The 2017 Pantone Color of the Year is Greenery
February 6, 2017 // Posted in:Last Updated on January 22, 2020
The Pantone Color Institute has named Greenery (No. 15-0343) as their 2017 color of the year, coining it “nature’s neutral.” For the past 17 years, the color authority has chosen a hue that reflects the world’s cultural climate. This year, Greenery was chosen to symbolize new beginnings, and was inspired by nature to represent the revival of its lushness in springtime, healthier food resolutions and growing vegetarian trends. Greenery signifies hope, unity, restoration, minimalism, renewal and rejuvenation, with the yellow hue referencing the sun and excitement for spring. It provides reassurance in the uncertainty of today’s political and social environment.
The desire to reconnect with nature has put Greenery at the forefront of design, lending its appeal to architecture, interior décor and fashion. Today’s homeowners are embracing their excitement over this zesty shade and how it can be beautifully paired with complementing colors.
Here are a few design suggestions on how you can incorporate Greenery into your home:
