Although basins with vanity units make for a stylish choice and will add a modern look to any bathroom, they have quite a bit of history.
We traced their origins to centuries ago, to the old design of Chinese washbasins (you know, in the days before running water). Centuries later, they are making a comeback and here’s why we love them:

What to keep in mind when installing a vessel sink in your bathroom
Vessel sinks are raised above the level of the countertop, so a special faucet with a long neck will be required to accommodate the size of the sink.

2. Consider a lower counter height to accommodate your sink if it sits on top of the counter.
Vessel sinks differ from the traditional bathroom sink which sits comfortably within the vanity counter top, usually 32 to 36 inches above the floor–a comfortable height for brushing teeth and washing hands, according to Kohler.
