With the new year right around the corner, it’s not too early to start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions. While going to the gym on a regular basis is always a popular one, we’re thinking bigger and bolder.

How about some updates to your bathroom or kitchen cabinets, countertops, or backsplashes? Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, why not all three? If that sounds like the perfect resolution, we want to help you start planning. So, we have gathered some inspiration from the hottest kitchen trends anticipated in 2023.

Cabinets

As we head into the new year, consider updating your cabinetry to one of the most beautiful and much-anticipated colors. And the best part? You don’t have to entirely replace your cabinets (unless, of course, you want to). Refacing your cabinets is much faster and more cost-effective.

So, if you’re willing and ready to make your kitchen cabinets look like they popped out of a design magazine, opt for one of these bold color choices:

Green

Any shade of green that matches your existing décor works. Go ahead and have fun with tones and shades. The bolder, the better is a great rule of thumb for 2023!

Gray

This classic color never seems to go out of style. Plus, it pairs nicely with many mosaic tile backsplashes and countertop colors.

Countertops

Upgrade your kitchen or bathroom countertops for a fresh look that will transform the entire space. The upcoming natural color pallets offer a subtle and unmatched beauty. Pick from one of these favorites:

Blue

Shades of blue go surprisingly well in kitchens and exude a sense of peace and calm. Add some extra sparkle with recycled glass countertops.

Whites and Creams

A classic color palette never goes out of style. You can achieve this look with a countertop from our marble collection.

Backsplashes

Nothing makes a big, bold statement quite like a mosaic tile backsplash. The right backsplash will make your kitchen virtually pop if it’s paired with the right countertop!

Consider one of the stunning new looks that make up the 2023 design season when deciding on a new color palette. Some of the hot options include:

Go Bold

Say goodbye to muted, matte backsplash tiles. Shine and bold colors are back with a vengeance. Opt for bright, solid colors and rectangular tiles to achieve this gorgeous look. One great choice is our Metropolis Buxy mosaic tiles.

Choosing a kitchen countertop is a highly personal experience. You will want to consider your individual tastes, the style you want to achieve, your color preferences, your existing décor, and the available kitchen space you have. Additionally, you need to determine how you will use the countertops to select the most appropriate material. With all these factors to consider, it’s easy to get stuck in the planning stages and struggle to make a final decision.

We want to help you break out of this “stuck” stage so you can finally get the kitchen countertop of your dreams. To help guide you through the decision-making process, we pulled together a brief guide on the best materials for kitchen countertops. Below, we explore the pros and cons of granite, Corian, and quartz countertops.

Granite Countertops

Granite countertops are a perennial favorite among homeowners. They add a sophisticated and classy air to every kitchen and come in a wide-ranging color palette.

Pros:

Granite is naturally heat resistant. Granite countertops from Granite and TREND Transformations contain ForeverSeal®. This proprietary finish ensures the surfaces are nonporous, stain-resistant, and scratch-resistant. ForeverSeal® also means your new countertop will never need to be sealed, unlike traditional granite countertops.

Cons:

Many types of granite countertops are prone to cracking or chipping. You will likely have seams showing since the material is not as flexible. As one of the more expensive countertop options, granite is an investment.

Corian Countertops

Corian technically refers to a brand of surface material created by DuPont in 1967. However, now the name is often used to refer to a broad range of solid surface counters. Corian is composed of an acrylic resin, specifically polymethyl methacrylate, and natural minerals.

Pros:

Corian has a naturally nonporous surface and is easy to clean. Extremely durable, Corian is a lower-maintenance countertop surface and is simple to repair if it becomes damaged.

Cons:

Due to the softer surface, Corian is not as scratch-resistant as granite or quartz. It is composed of some natural minerals, but those are combined with binding agents. High temperatures can damage Corian countertops, so you must be careful setting a hot pot or pan directly on the surface.

Benefits of Quartz Countertops

Quartz is becoming increasingly popular among homeowners due to its durability and an excellent range of style choices.

Pros:

Quartz countertops are made from natural stone. As quartz is a harder material, the countertops are more scratch-resistant and heat-resistant than Corian. Quartz is extremely durable and long-lasting. The non-porous material makes them easy to clean.

Cons:

Quartz is slightly more difficult and time-consuming to repair. The color is not entirely natural. Some coloring is added in to mimic natural surfaces like marble or granite.

We hope this helps make your decision a little easier, but if you’re still uncertain exactly which material you want for your new kitchen countertop, we can help! Are you ready to completely transform your kitchen but have been putting it off because you don’t want to deal with demolition? Now you don’t have to wait any longer. We want to help you achieve your kitchen design dreams faster.

So, we gathered some tips and tricks on how you can create a magazine-worthy kitchen and without the mess. Take a look at the ideas below and see if one (or all) works for you.

Cabinet Refacing

Updating your kitchen cabinets does not mean you have to demolish them. As long as the skeleton is still in good shape, cabinet refacing is an option.

Cabinet refacing is a quicker, easier, and more cost-effective option. You can choose from a large selection of finishes and colors. So, you don’t have to give up your dreams of new cabinetry just because your schedule (or budget) doesn’t have room for a full remodel.

Plus, when you are ready to reface your cabinets, you can add in the eye-catching hardware you’ve always wanted.

Our design team can help guide you through the entire process. That way, you better understand the timeframe and what’s possible.

Easy Countertops

Changing up your countertops is an easy path toward breathing new life into your kitchen. It may seem like it would require a ton of work. But replacing countertops is a relatively quick and easy process. If you aren’t ready to tackle all your countertops just yet – get started with the island.

Islands often don’t see the same level of use as the other counter areas. So, it makes the perfect location to begin your kitchen transformation journey. There are countless materials to choose from, making it hard to narrow things down.

Start by taking a look at a few of our favorites:

etherium® By E-Stone

Our etherium® By E-Stone countertop surfaces are made with ForeverSeal®, our proprietary polymer resin which is heat, stain, scratch, mold, and mildew resistant. ForeverSeal® is nonporous and never requires sealing, unlike traditional granite, quartz, and marble countertops, which require regular sealing (both costing you time and money).

Marble

It is classic and beautiful and will probably never go out of style. And you don’t have to worry about damaging our marble countertops. We designed them to last.

Recycled Glass

Recycled glass is the perfect option for the bold and brave. Our recycled glass countertops are available in many colors and styles.

Granite

Our granite countertops are impervious to staining and scratching and will not require sealing (unlike traditional granite surfaces). The granite color palette changes constantly and is influenced by industry trends. This means that you will always have a wide selection of high-quality surfaces that are not only durable but look great!

If black countertops are calling you, consider our Nero Stella countertop in the Granite Collection. You won’t be disappointed.

Quartz

We offer long-lasting and durable quartz countertops. They can withstand heat which makes them ideal for kitchen applications that are subject to heat utensils or cookware. Our quartz countertops come in a variety of colors and styles so you can find your perfect match! Since quartz countertops are nonabsorbent, they are resistant to staining, mildew, and mold.

Mosaic Tiles

Adding mosaic tiles to your kitchen is one of the quickest and easiest projects you can tackle. But, boy, do they make a fabulous statement. Choose from an incredible range of colors and designs to make your kitchen stand out. Find a wealth of inspiration in our mosaic tile collection.

Remodeling projects can be exciting, but at the same time they can be a huge source of personal stress, often because of the expense, the time it takes to tear everything apart and put it back together, and then to clean up the mess. Granite and TREND Transformations has a way to remove all three of those stressors, while still revitalizing your kitchen or bathroom with a new aesthetic.

Reface Your Cabinets

One of the quickest and more economical ways to update and illuminate your kitchen or bathroom is a simple resurfacing of the cabinets. Nothing needs to be torn off the walls, and because you’re not changing the layout of the kitchen or relocating any plumbing or electrical outlets, we can usually complete the makeover in just a few days. You can, however, still make modifications to your kitchens, such as the addition of a spice or wine rack, or a space for extra storage.

Choosing Your Cabinet Surface

We have provided our Visualizer Tool to help you create a preview of the various styles and enhancements that will add vibrancy to your kitchen. You can choose exactly how to make the old look brand new. We offer a variety of styles that you can customize for your home or business. The woodgrains and solids we offer in RTF cabinet refacing designs range from dark-and-rich to light-and-elegant.

You can also choose new molding, pulls and knobs, and hinges.

Other major benefits to refacing your cabinets include:

  • More affordable than complete cabinet replacement
  • Little to no demolition means less mess that needs to go to the landfill (environmentally conscious)
  • Because there is little to no demolition, there is little downtime.
  • Your cabinets take on a stylish, uniform look in terms of color, hardware, and finish.
  • Obviously, resurfacing your kitchen cabinets works only when your current cabinet boxes are in good shape—meaning they are not warped, broken, or water-damaged. It’s also good to note that cabinet refacing can’t remedy a bad kitchen layout.

The designers at Granite and TREND Transformations are experts at building innovative aesthetics. We are dedicated to helping you discover decorative solutions to create the vision you have for your home. We’ve been at this for more than 20 years and have established a national reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. Don’t put off the beauty you could have in your home today.
