Miramar, FL— August 25, 2015 — Granite Transformations is pleased to announce Cynthia Mayo as “2014 Franchisee of the Year” for her outstanding customer service and stellar performance in mastering the Granite Transformations franchise process, including sales and marketing, manufacturing, fabrication and overall operations.
Mayo began her career with Granite Transformations as a sales representative in Sonoma County after she used the company to renovate her own kitchen. “I saw this new granite product on HGTV (Home and Garden Television) and I thought – there’s no way that product could go over tiles,” Mayo recalled. “I was cooking by 6:00 pm on the second day of the install. The sink, the stove and plumbing were all hooked up and ready to go. No mess, no fuss. It was done!” With her enthusiasm and belief in the product, Mayo sold 18 makeovers in her neighborhood alone. Her excitement over the product led her to purchase a stake in her first franchise location in Sonoma County. She grew the business and expanded into a second location in Solana County and more recently purchased new territory in Contra Costa, bringing her access to around 1,000,000 households.
Mayo’s sales are evenly split between kitchen and bathroom renovations. She credits her husband, Dan, and her executive team for marketing both sides of the business. She says most of the bathrooms they renovate are large, with separate soaking tubs and walk-in showers. They even fit patio tub surrounds. The kitchens of the homes in her area are also large and typically have island units, range cookers and expansive countertop space (some up to 150 square feet).
The best-selling countertop color at her locations is Royal Ivory because it goes with just about everything. Perla Di Modena is another favorite for kitchens and baths because of its earthy and aesthetically pleasing tones.
Mayo looks to the future with excitement as she plans to double the size of her fabrication unit and explore the commercial possibilities offered by centralized manufacturing.
“I feel so positive about the future,” Mayo stated. “I’ve got a great team and everyone is working to their strengths. Customers are happy with our products and our work. It’s a good life.”
